MittiBite ("we," "our," or "us"), developed and operated by Snazzerra Apps LLP, is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application (the "App") as a Customer or a Home Chef.

By accessing or using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not access the application.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information that identifies, relates to, describes, or could reasonably be linked to you ("Personal Information"). The types of information we collect include:

  • Account Information: When you register, we collect your name, phone number, email address, and profile picture.
  • Location Data: We collect precise or approximate location data from your mobile device to connect customers with nearby home chefs, calculate delivery distances, and facilitate accurate order drop-offs.
  • Profile & Dietary Data (Customers): Food preferences, allergies, or specific dietary requirements (e.g., Jain, Low Oil) that you choose to provide to help us recommend suitable chefs.
  • Kitchen & Verification Data (Chefs):Address of your home kitchen, cooking schedules, menu details, and necessary verification documents (such as food safety registrations, if applicable) to ensure platform quality and trust.
  • Financial Information: Payment details, UPI IDs, or bank account information needed to process payments (for customers) or facilitate payouts (for chefs). Note: Payments are processed by secure third-party gateways; we do not store your full credit card numbers.
  • Device and App Usage Data: We collect device information (like operating system, device ID) and usage data (like screens visited, buttons clicked) to improve app performance and troubleshoot errors.

2. Permissions Required by the App

To provide core functionalities, the App may request the following device permissions:

  • Location Services: Required to show chefs in your vicinity and for delivery tracking.
  • Camera and Photo Library: Required for chefs to upload pictures of their daily meals, and for users to update their profile pictures.
  • Push Notifications: To alert chefs of new orders, order deadlines, and to notify customers of order status, payment confirmations, and delivery updates.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following business purposes:

  • To create, maintain, and secure your account.
  • To facilitate the pre-ordering, preparation, and delivery of daily meals.
  • To process payments, refunds, and chef payouts.
  • To connect customers directly with home-based chefs.
  • To send administrative information, such as order updates, policy changes, and support messages.
  • To monitor and analyze usage trends to improve the App's User Interface and User Experience.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your Personal Information. We may share your data in the following situations:

  • Between Users: We share necessary information between the Customer and the Chef to fulfill an order (e.g., the customer's first name, dietary notes, and delivery address; the chef's kitchen name and profile).
  • Service Providers: We share data with third-party vendors who assist us, such as payment processors (e.g., Razorpay, PhonePe), SMS/WhatsApp notification services, and cloud hosting providers.
  • Delivery Partners: If delivery is managed by our platform or a third party, we share the delivery address and contact number to ensure the food reaches you.
  • Legal Obligations: We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government request.

5. Data Security

We implement administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help protect your Personal Information. However, no electronic transmission over the internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.

6. Your Data Rights and Account Deactivation

You have the right to review, update, or deactivate your account.

Account Deactivation: You can request account deactivation directly within the App settings or by contacting our support team. When your account is deactivated, your profile will no longer be active in the App. We may retain certain transaction records as required for legal, accounting, and tax obligations.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this policy and, where appropriate, sending an in-app notification.
